    Jeffrey R Pope, DVM

    Veterinarian, Practice Owner
    Dr. Pope is a 1992 graduate of the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Veterinary Medicine.  While a veterinary student, he worked in the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary Emergency Clinic as a technician/nurse.  Following graduation, Dr. Pope completed a one year small animal rotating internship at the Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island, Canada.  Dr. Pope relocated to western Pennsylvania in early 1994 and co-founded Allegheny Veterinary Emergency Clinic on Rt. 286 in Plum; he practiced there for seven years.  He opened Companion Animal Medical Center in 2002; the name was recently changed to Pittsburgh East Animal Hospital located on 286 in Monroeville, PA.

  • Pittsburgh East Animal Hospital DVM veterinarian Dr. Jana Doege

    Jana Doege, DVM

    Dr. Doege is originally from Northwest Arkansas. She spent seven years in Louisiana completing her bachelors of animal science and her doctorate of veterinary medicine at Louisiana State University.  After graduating with her DVM in 2008, she was accepted into a large animal internship program at the University of Georgia, where she practiced under equine and large animal specialists for another year.

        She moved to Pennsylvania in the fall of 2009 and joined a mixed animal and emergency practice in Darlington where she practiced for 2 years. She then moved to Apollo with her 'Plum native' husband and joined our practice in November 2011.

        Dr. Doege has two dogs, a cat, several chickens, and a Blue and Gold Macaw. She enjoys playing ultimate frisbee, gardening, and most outdoors activities.

  • Dawn Dinger, DVM

    Dr. Dinger hails from Elkhart, Indiana.  She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Purdue University in 1993 and her Doctor Veterinary Medicine degree in 1997, also from Purdue.  After a year of practicing veterinary medicine in Indiana, she completed a rotating small animal internship at a large specialty hospital in Detroit in 1999.  Dr. Dinger then moved to Pittsburgh and spent 11 years practicing at a local emergency hospital and another 2 years a a local small animal practice.  She joined Pittsburgh East in July of 2012.

    Dr. Dinger has 2 dogs, 5 cats and a variety of rodents.  Her professional interests include feline medicine and endocrinology.  When not a work Dr. Dinger enjoys hiking, gardening, home improvement and photography.

    Management Staff
    Paula has been with PEAH since 2004.  She has previous experience as a veterinary assistant and office staff while working at a mixed animal practice in Indiana.  Paula fills many roles at PEAH; she is the “go to” staff member when something is needed.  Along with a busy family she has one dog and one cat.

    Technician Staff
    Kim started in the animal field as a groomer several years ago.  She received a degree in veterinary technology in 1997 from Northern Virginia Community College.  She moved back to Pittsburgh in 2005 with her husband and has been at PEAH since 2006.  Along with her many outdoor pursuits Kim currently has one dog and one cat.

    Mary graduated from the Vet Tech Institute in Pittsburgh in 2006 with an associate’s degree in veterinary technology.  During her training she interned at PEAH then joined us as a staff member.  She enjoys outdoor pursuits and has one cat named Jerry.

    Technician Staff 
    Mike came to Pittsburgh in 1994 to pursue EMT training.  He transferred his skills into the veterinary field where he worked for several years as a veterinary technician at Allegheny Veterinary Emergency Associates.   He started at PEAH in 2005.  He is a highly skilled technician.  He prefers cats to dogs and has two cats currently.

    Ginny came to PEAH in August 2013. She worked in a pediatricians office for several years before coming to us. She is married and has three sons and two grandsons. Ginny also was in 4-H for many years and loves animals and caring for them.
